I’ve lived in what was once the ancient kingdom of Wessex for longer than I’ve lived anywhere else - over 25 years. The English counties of Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire are varied but always beautiful. From the marshes and limestone hills of Somerset; to the steep hills and rugged coast of Dorset; to the rolling hills, huge skies and open chalk grasslands of Wiltshire, Wessex is steeped in history and natural beauty.

The English counties of Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire are steeped in history and natural beauty. these are the counties I know and love the best and have photographed most often. despite britain being such a small country it is richly varied and rewards exploration. whilst i juggle a desire to limit travel due to my impact on the environment, when the occasion presents itself and I have to travel i make sure i always have a camera with me. this gallery contains a little of what i have found on the way.
